Dear Friends,
Dana suffered a heart attack on August 10 and died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Powder Springs, GA. She was 47.
"This is a sad, sad time and a very unexpected event," says Ernie Haase. "Dana was a truly wonderful sister, sister-in-law and daughter who loved life and was the sweetest person I've ever met. We are just devastated by her loss, but know she is happy to be with her father and her Heavenly Father."
Dana loved gospel music. It was her life, says Ernie. In celebration of her memory, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will sing at her homegoing service this Friday.
In light of Dana's passing, EHSS has rescheduled the following August performances:
Charlottesville, VA from Thursday, August 13, 2009 to Friday, February 5, 2010.
Rochester, NY from Friday, August 14, 2009 to Saturday, February 6, 2010.
Cincinnati, OH from Saturday, August 15, 2009 to Friday, January 15, 2010.
Goldsboro, NC from Thursday, August 20, 2009 to Thursday, February 4, 2010.
With the group's more than 100 U.S. and European concerts this year, these are the earliest feasible dates for the rescheduled shows. Tickets for the August 13-20, 2009 performances will be honored for the 2010 dates. Ticket holders who can't attend the rescheduled concert should contact iTickets at 800-965-9324 by September 2 for a refund. (Service fees are not refundable).
The week of hardship for Ernie Haase & Signature Sound began on August 6 when the group's equipment trailer ripped away from their tour bus en route to Houston, Texas. EHSS was on I-55 South about one hour south of Jackson, Miss., when the accident occurred.
No one was injured on the bus or on the road, but the trailer and all the light and sound equipment in it was destroyed.
Thank you for the outpouring of prayers and kindness during this extremely difficult time.

Our hearts ache and cry with yours. We are saddened by your profound, sudden loss. We lost our 39 year old daughter, her husband and 2 grand-daughters (ages 9 & 11) when their small plane crashed in Nov., 2003. We know and rejoice that they are all with their Heavenly Father, but how we still miss them. A sudden death, especially of children and younger adults, is so, so hard. Our lives will never be the same. God has truly used this accident for His glory. He has been our source of strength, peace and hope. Job 12:10 - "In His hand is the life of every living creature and the breath of all mankind." Our love and prayers will continue to be with you. DeDee and Bob Ross, Whidbey Island, WA.
Ernie and Lisa I feel your pain and I know the Lord has His loveing arms wrapped around you just fall back in his loveing arms He will carry you and your family through all your sorrow.I am praying for you daily, and I am also praying for EHSS.I will be praying while you are singing at Dana's service.
We are so sorry to hear of Dana's going home. Our prayers are with you & Lisa's family. We just lost a lady at our church suddenly Sunday afternoon from a heart attack. Our God is the only only who knows when we will go to meet Him.

I am stunned by this sad event. Sometimes life seems so unfair! But, I believe that God takes us in His own good time, with good reason. He knows what we don't. I am praying for all the family and friends of this young woman. I lost my mom 14 months ago, and that night I sang to her this little bit of a song: "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace". Dana now is apart of that light, and will watch over all of you for the rest of your days here, until it is time for you to join her and Jesus.
Words really cannot express how sad we were to hear of the passing of Dana. We know your hurting a lot right now, allow yourselves to hurt, in time you will heal. As you know, God is with you to see you through the hurt and the healing, we also know your memories of all the times you had with Dana will be an added strength through this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Bless you and also thank you for all the joy and comfort you have brought us through your wonderful music.
So sorry to hear this news. Dana and I were childhood friends, grew up on the same block, and attended school together. Donna (Raudebaugh) Magnussen, Stow, OH
The closeness that you all so obviously have for each other is also the closeness that will get you through the sad and lonely days ahead. God is the same God, in the good times and in the sad times.

I lost my sister suddenly two years ago and my heart knows how difficult this time is. She was 8 years older and died in her sleep. Ironically, it was Ernie & the guys' music that helped me hold on. Talking with Ernie in Rochester after the concert touched my soul. We're so sad you all can't come to Rochester, but we're much sadder for all of you and we will be calling upon God to hold your hands and comfort you. Ernie, you held my hand last year, you helped me focus through the grief to see that, I may not know it yet, but my God has a plan for me. I know surely God is wrapping his love around you, Lisa, and all who loved Dana.
