October 9 marks the first of EHSS' international shows with the 2009 Gaither European Homecoming Tour. We're really excited to be returning to some of these countries and performing in others for the first time:

JOYFUL LIVING IN CHRIST BEGINS BY PUTTING PRIDE ASIDE

A great reading this morning from Philippians 2:1-4:

“Does your life in Christ give you strength? Does His love comfort you? Do you share together in the spirit? Do you have mercy and kindness? If so, make me very happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love and having one mind and one purpose.”

“When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourself. Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others."

Now, from Jonathan Edwards:

"Humility tends to prevent an inordinate aspiring to wealth or position --- in short, ambitious behavior among people. A humble person is content with such a situation among others as God is pleased to allot to him or her and is not greedy for honor. Nor does one try to appear uppermost and exalted above his neighbors."

I think we should all live and love by the words Humility and Contentment. This would go a long, long way toward bringing the peace of God to this crazy old world.
